Two of my most amazing, wonderful blogging friends are launching brand-new blogs today! Julia and Rebekah were super sweet to agree to a double interview (and it’s so amusing to read; they’re like twins)!

Help me support these beautiful new blogs and get to know these bloggers a little better! Here is the awesome interview.

How long have you had the idea for your new blog?

Julia: Well.. I played around with a personal blog last summer, but it was definitely not what I wanted. I will never give anyone that link… ever… XD anyways, I tried again, thinking that this would definitely be it! Wrong again. I finally decided, in 2018, to go with juliaroseauthor.com. My birthday came, and voila – blog! So, I’ve been thinking about this since June of last year. Eight months. Eight very long months. XD Plus, as soon as Rebekah and I agreed to the twin blogiversaries… that just was awesome. It was SO fun!

Rebekah: I think it was sometime in December when I began considering updating my former personal blog, Head In The Clouds. At first, I was just going to fix some pages/design problems and go through and delete some of my cringey old posts, but the whole process was so tedious that I thought, why not just get a fresh start on this whole personal blogging thing? 😀 I toyed with the idea in early January and finally decided on a name and everything for my new personal blog, and the idea of a coordinated launch with Julia was totally enough motivation for me to complete all the setting up in early February!

What was your favorite part about the whole new-blog process?

Julia: Buying my first domain ever. XD I was SO super excited to see ‘juliaroseauthor.com’ actually be real, I did this whole happy dance. XD Plus, now that I’ve put more into it, I’m not going to give up as easily! I also loved finding the color scheme and making all the pretty flower/rusticish designs. 🙂

Rebekah: Figuring out the new design, definitely! I just LOVE tinkering around with different designs and trying to figure out what color schemes fit the mood of my blog, etc.! It was so much fun to do that for Tunes Of My Heart, and I really enjoyed working on all the design elements. 🙂

What is the favorite blog comment you’ve gotten on your new blog so far?

Julia: (uh, un momento. I forgot to enable the commenting. *facedesk*) Okay, now that people can actually comment on it, Christina (Christinaandcamera.wordpress.com) left a sweet comment: I’m so excited for you, Julia! Can’t wait to add my part on Friday.

Rebekah: *goes to find first post in order to check* I got a super sweet comment from Emmie (pheonixamericangirlworld.wordpress.com): “I love this so much! I’m so excited for it and can’t wait for all you post in the future! You are such an amazing blogger and I am so lucky to have you as a blogging friend and a sister in Christ!” Along with all the other super sweet comments, it made my day. 😀

What are your goals for your new blog?

Julia: I started Julia Rose (the blog!) to document my journey of writing, and to share the joy of writing with the world! It’s my passion, and it spills into everything I do! I want to improve my web design stuff *gulp* and be really, really consistent (like Rebekah!) and not give up. XD I’m going to try not to focus on followers, ‘cause that can give false results and false hope/discouragement. I am hoping to start an email list in the next couple of weeks or so – once everything isn’t *quite* so busy. Isaiah 43:7 is my verse for me and my blog: Everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom I have made. (NASB, emphasis added)

Rebekah: I’d like to be consistent in posting at least once a week (I stick to a pretty consistent schedule for my toy blog, but I’ve never been too consistent in personal blogging). Another one of my goals is to improve my blogging skills in general — developing a blogging voice, writing more poetry and short stories, becoming better equipped in writing skills, etc.! As always, I one of my main long-term goals is for my posts to be nice and professional and interesting, and for my design to be pretty. 😉 I don’t have many goals for followers, but it would be awesome if I could expand my audience. However, my main goal is really to glorify God in whatever I do, and my new blog is no exception.

What is your favorite part about each other’s blogs?

Julia: ALL OF IT! I LOVE ALL OF HER BLOG! IT’S AMAZING AND GORGEOUS AND PERFECT AND ORGANIZED! AND DID YOU SEE THE COLOR?! It’s my very favoritest color EVER.

Rebekah: THE BEAUTIFUL HEADERRRRR. *dies* And all the beautiful pagessssss. *dies some more*

Opinions on chocolate? >:)

Julia: I NEED SOME. R I G H T N O W. But sadly, I can’t. *sobs* Rebekah and I had a *ahem* several page long discussion on ‘chocolate’ when I found out I can’t have sugar.. Or dairy.. Or starch.. But my very favorite chocolate is Rolos. ROLOS ARE THE ESSENCE OF LIFE (though I guess I’m not living?!). XD XD Rebekah once got like, a four pound bar from Trader Joe’s and made me really jealous. XD LIKE HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!?!

Rebekah: AHHHHHHHHH CHOCOLATE!!! How could I live without you, my dear precious chocolate? *stuffs face with chocolate* But seriously, chocolate is like, my second favorite food. 😀 I especially l o v e the 70% cocoa stuff…stuffed with caramel…and yeah, like Julia mentioned above, one of my favorite Christmas gifts ever was a four pound chocolate bar from Trader Joe’s. XD XD (It’s only been two months, and it’s already almost gone. Whoops. >:D).
